Role Overview and Production Requirements: I am looking for a Production Assistant to help me bring a new Star Wars mini-series to life. This is a high-effort video and audio production.
The Project Details
- Title: Blacklisted: A Star Wars Story
- Premise: Once the Dominion’s most decorated strike team, you refused an order to massacre civilians and became the galaxy’s most wanted fugitives overnight.
- System: Star Scoundrels
- Format: Pre-recorded video and audio sessions.
- Commitment: 5 to 6 recording sessions plus 1 to 3 pre-production meetings.
- Frequency: 3 weeks on, 1 week off.
- Anticipated Schedule: I am currently targeting Sundays at 12pm EST for our sessions. Please note that nothing is locked in yet; we will finalize the specific dates and times together once the PA and the cast are officially on board.
- Status: Volunteer gig (non-paid) focused on production experience and portfolio building.
- Casting Begins: May 4th.
Pre-Production & Logistics
- Scheduling & RSVPs: You will manage the calendar for the cast and crew. This includes sending out session reminders 24 hours in advance and ensuring everyone has confirmed their attendance.
- Casting Support: Starting May 4th, you will assist in reviewing applications. You'll help vet candidates based on their recording gear, experience, and how well their "vibe" fits the Star Wars setting and tone.
- Asset Management: You are responsible for making sure I have everything I need from the players before we start, such as character sheets, token art, or backstories.
- Communication: Acting as a point of contact for the players so they always know where to be and what to have ready.
Real Time Session Support
During the actual recording, your focus shifts to the health of the production and the story.
- Safety Monitoring: You will be the primary monitor for our Lines and Veils. If a scene gets too close to a boundary, you have the authority to pause or nudge the table to keep things respectful.
- Story & Production Logging: While we play, you will take notes on major plot beats. You’ll also mark down anything that feels "off," like a technical glitch or a moment that should be cut in the final edit to save time.
- Social Media Prep: Identifying punchy quotes or "teaser" moments during the session that can be used for promotion on Bluesky or Discord.
